Phox: The World's Most Eco-Friendly Water Filter

If you have a water filter jug at your house, you’re making an important first step to reducing plastic waste by avoiding single-use plastic water bottles. However, if you want to take it a step further, you should consider looking into what water filter you use at home. Did you know that most water filter cartridges need to be replaced every 30 days. That’s a lot of plastic waste ending up in landfills — 100 million cartridges to be exact.

Phox is an innovative company that’s trying to make the reusable water filter industry even more sustainable and your tap water even healthier. After the success of their first jug, they made updates to give you an even better experience. It’s such a waste to throw away cartridges every month, so they decided to lead the way with making totally reusable cartridges.

Welcome V2 , the second version of the eco-friendly Phox water jug.

The body of the jug is made from recycled, food-safe polypropylene (that has 73% lower footprint than virgin PP) and glass. The design gets rid of the need for a new filter by using replacement packs with healthy ingredients to filter you water and even add electrolytes.

The replacement filter packs are mailed in a box that’s small enough to fit in your mailbox.. The product is designed and manufacturing 50 miles out of their headquarters in Glasgow, Scotland and will ship across the UK and to the US after production. Don’t worry US friends, it’s coming! I’m so excited to get V2 after this kickstarted campaign wraps at the end of April.

It’s launch day today! So go check out the campaign and learn more about Phox. It’s been a day and they’re already so close to reaching their goal to bring V2 to you. As a regular user of a water filter, I never really thought about how I could do even more to make that experience more sustainable. I applaud companies that take an extra step to insure a greener, cleaner, and healthier future.
